Jay Jay group was founded by a platoon of aquaculture professionals led by Dr. Josekutty P.A and Dr. Joshi k Shankar in 1995. The motto of the group was to provide consultancy services to the upcoming entrepreneurs of aquaculture in India. Jay Jay went on to provide consultative assistance to shrimp hatcheries and farms in India, and Bangladesh till 2015.

Meanwhile, the group started establishing their own units of hatcheries and farms since the year 2000. The aim was to provide reliable, quality seeds, to the shrimp farmers and they succeeded in the venture. Jay Jay now has a battery of hatcheries in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh with a production capacity of 2 billion seeds per annum. Apart from hatcheries the group is also farming in a total of 150 acres spread across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
